Not to be confused with the Ebbrington Arms Devon – which we’re sure is nice too – this is a lovely golden stone pub in a soft, relaxed Cotswold village. As soon as you walk in, you know it’s all OK. Comfort, welcoming staff, relatively easy to get a table [we did book so it should be easy!], good food, wines and…beer. It’s all quite smart as well – it is the Cotswolds, not a thatch out of place.
The menu is full of tempting dishes, with a great emphasis on locally-sourced produce. All the standards are here with imaginative cooking and presentation – something for everyone.
More importantly, they have their own brewery – the Yubberton Brewing Company, which produces a small range of great beer – including YPA [yes, we know…] – all at sensible strength so you don’t fall over after a pint or two [568ml – 1,136ml]. They also have some guest beers, cider and lager from the Cotswold Brewing Company, and from other local breweries. CAMRA like it, not surprisingly. A proper pub.
